According to the § 15 of the Alien Act an inviting person (legal entity or a natural person) is obliged to cover costs associated with:

• the living of a foreign national during the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic until he/she leaves the territory,
• the accommodation of a foreign national during the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic until he/she leaves the territory,
• the provision of health care during the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic until he/she leaves the territory, possibly also for transport of ill person or his/her remains,
• the stay of the established foreign national on the territory of the Czech Republic until he/she leaves the territory.

Upon request of the Alien Police, the inviting person is obliged to prove his/her ability to fulfil the commitments contained in the invitation by the following:

a.The inviting person has at his/her disposal funds which would cover the stay of the foreign national amounting to at least:

• 0.5 times the subsistence minimum laid down by the Act on life and existence minimum as the amount required to cover subsistence and other basic personal needs per one day of the stay, if the total duration of the stay is not to exceed 30 days (currently, the existence minimum amounts to CZK 2, 020,, the inviting person thus has to dispose of amount at least CZK 1, 010 for each day of the inviting foreigner’s stay in the Czech Republic if his/her stay does not exceed 30 days);
• 15 times the subsistence minimum, if the duration of the stay is to exceed 30 days, and this sum is increased by double the subsistence minimum per each whole month of the expected stay in the Czech Republic (the inviting person is obliged to dispose of at least CZK 30 300 and this amount increases for any subsequent month of the intended stay of the invited foreigner in the Czech Republic by CZK 4,040);
   
  If the invited person is under 18 years, the amounts stated must be submitted in their half amount.

b.The inviting person has at his/her disposal funds amounting to 0.25 times the subsistence minimum for personal needs for each day in the Czech Republic, unless the foreign national is accommodated by the inviting person (the inviting persons is obliged to dispose of CZK 505 for each day of the intended stay of the invited foreigner in the Czech Republic).

c.The inviting person will submit a document proving that travel health insurance has been concluded on behalf of the invited foreign national or a statutory declaration that such health insurance will be entered into before the entry of the foreign national into the Czech Republic, or will prove that for respective coverage of medical costs in the scope stipulated by §  180i par.1 of the Alien Act he/she is in possession of EUR 30,000.

d.The inviting person has at his/her disposal funds to cover costs relating to the departure of the invited foreign national from the Czech Republic, corresponding to the price of an air ticket to the country of which the foreign national possesses travel documents, or to the country of the foreign national’s permanent residence.

The inviting person proves the ability to meet the commitments arising from the invitation by financial means, bank account registered on his/her name or by other document about financial resources (e.g. by presenting a valid internationally recognised credit card).

An inviting person who is a natural person must prove his/her ability to meet commitments contained in the invitation by submitting for example cash, a payment card, or a bank statement.

Proving a person’s ability to meet commitment related to the invitation does not relieve the inviting person (legal entity or natural person) from the commitment to cover possible costs in their full amount.
