What does an invitation letter look like?
An invitation letter is an officially authorised invitation through which the inviting legal entity or natural person guarantees ensuring problem-free stay of the invited foreign national in the Czech Republic. It represents a civil-legal commitment by means of which the inviting person commits itself to cover expenses related to:
- the living of a foreign national during the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic until he/she leaves the territory,
- the accommodation of a foreign national during the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic until he/she leaves the territory,
- the provision of health care during the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic until he/she leaves the territory, possibly also for transport of ill person or the remains,
- the stay of the established foreign national on the territory of the Czech Republic until he/she leaves the territory.
The application for verification of the invitation is filed on an official form “invitation” (pozvání) which can be obtained at any Alien Police Inspectorate. An administrative fee of CZK 300 is charged for verification of the form which is carried out by the Alien Police Inspectorate in charge of the location of inviting person’s place of residence.
The inviting natural person is obliged to fill in the form his/her first name, surname, birth number, day, month and year of birth, place of residence in the Czech Republic and to prove his/her identity when submitting the form.
An inviting person who is a legal entity is obliged to fill in its name, seat and identification number and will furnish the invitation with a stamp and with the first name, surname and signature of a person authorised to act on behalf of the legal entity in question.
The person authorised to act on behalf of the legal entity is obliged to prove his/her identity when submitting the application. A person who acts on behalf of the legal entity and is not included in the Companies Register must prove his/her authorisation (for example by submitting a power of attorney or other relevant document).
Furthermore, the inviting person (natural person or legal entity) is obliged to fill in the form data about the invited third-country national – his/her first name, surname or other names, day, month and year of birth, nationality, residence abroad, number of travel document, the purpose of stay and period for which the third-country national is being invited to the Czech Republic.
